Window Restoration Workshop
The antique capiz shell windows have been carefully removed and transported to our restoration workshop. Our craftsmen will repair the wooden frames, replace damaged capiz shells with period-appropriate materials, and install new brass hardware that matches the original design. These windows are irreplaceable heritage pieces - we're honored to restore them to their former glory!
Hardwood Floor Restoration Begins
Exciting progress! The floor refinishing team started work on the original narra hardwood floors today. After 60+ years under carpet, these floors are coming back to life! We're using a dustless sanding system and will apply 3 coats of water-based poly for durability while maintaining the natural beauty. The wood grain is absolutely gorgeous - you're going to love it!
Careful Demolition Started
We began selective demolition today, taking extra care to preserve heritage elements. The team successfully removed the 1980s drop ceiling to reveal the original pressed tin ceiling - what a find! It needs cleaning and some panel replacement, but will be a stunning feature. We're also carefully removing the old bathroom tiles to assess the condition underneath.
Heritage Assessment Complete
Our heritage restoration specialist completed the detailed assessment of Casa Valencia today. Great news - the original hardwood floors under the carpet are in excellent condition and can be refinished! We also documented all the original moldings and trim details that we will preserve or replicate. The capiz windows in the sala need careful restoration but are salvageable.
